Our Story

J. E. Staub & Company was founded by Mr. Joseph E. Staub in 1941 with an initial capital investment of less than $1,500.00.  Building upon its commercial construction experience, J. E. Staub & Company was awarded its first major industrial project in 1959 by Pennsylvania Tire and Rubber Company, Tupelo, Mississippi.  This project opened the door for J. E. Staub & Company to become one of the largest industrial construction contractors in the State of Mississippi.

In 1973, J. E. Staub & Company changed the company’s name to JESCO, Inc.  Today, JESCO offers a multitude of construction services throughout the Southeast including General Construction, Construction Management, Design-Build, Mechanical-Electrical, Millwright/Maintenance, and Industrial Services.

JESCO currently has annual sales of approximately $200 million with over $300 million in bonding capacity. With offices located in Fulton and Tupelo, Mississippi, Montgomery, Alabama and Memphis, Tennessee, JESCO employs an average of 700-800 people annually.

Since its beginning 75 years ago, JESCO, Inc. has proven in-house capabilities which allow us to provide high quality, economically feasible, on-time projects for our customers.  Since 1999, JESCO has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Yates Companies, a perennial Engineering News Record Top 50 Contractor.
