The expected substantial completion of the Airbus Design-Build Package II Project is scheduled for early May 2020. This project will provide an expansion of the existing Delivery Center with the addition of two aircraft positions, a new Calibration Canopy, new A220 Staging Building, and new parking facilities. Civil Site Infrastructure includes the design of the new aircraft taxiway and apron for the proposed addition of the Delivery Center, parking to accommodate 1200 spaces, and the utilities for the Delivery Center, A220 Staging Building, and the Calibration Canopy. The Delivery Center Expansion is in support of the Airbus plant in Mobile, Alabama, USA for the complete final assembly and delivery of the A220. The project shall be designed and constructed to resemble the existing Delivery Center and with a more customer focused second floor, similar to Hamburg’s Delivery Center. Additionally, the new expansion is oriented 90 degrees to the existing with an additional curved hub space which includes a prominent customer entrance, lobby and multi-purpose space at the first and second level. The multi-purpose spaces shall include a food prep area and designed with the intent to hold ceremonies on both levels overlooking the 5th aircraft bay. The Delivery Center expansion will support two (2) additional bays with an alternate to add bay five (5) located at the northwest corner of the Delivery Center Hub. The intent of the expansion to the Delivery Center is to elevate the client experience, similar to Hamburg’s Delivery Center.
