Don Sheffield Leaves Behind a Legacy Built on Some of JESCO’s Most Complex Projects 

JESCO is celebrating the retirement of General Superintendent Don Sheffield, honoring more than 50 years of dedicated service and the countless projects he helped bring to life over the course of his career. 

“Over the course of 50-plus years, Don Sheffield has left his mark on some of JESCO’s most complex projects,” said Kelly Martin, Divisional Vice President at JESCO. Those projects include the Itawamba Community College Student Services Building, the University of Mississippi Library, Mississippi State University’s Hunter Henry Center, Kimberly-Clark, and multiple large-scale projects for North Mississippi Medical Center, among many others. 

“But what set Don apart wasn’t just his list of projects; it was how he got them done: sharp look-ahead planning, long hours, attention to detail, constant communication, and a standard for quality that never slipped,” Martin said. “Clients and architects trusted him enough to request him again and again. He was tough, but our people and subcontractors respected him for it.”
