I-65 Greenville Rest Area Project Complete

Modernized facility brings accessibility, expanded amenities, and improved traveler experience

The new I-65 Greenville Rest Area in Butler County, Alabama, is now open to the public following a complete rebuild. The modernized facility replaces the aging structure with expanded restrooms—including two men’s, two women’s, and two family restrooms—all fully ADA-compliant and equipped with changing tables.

Travelers will also benefit from expanded parking for passenger vehicles, buses, and trucks, as well as new picnic pavilions, sidewalks, and outdoor gathering spaces. Accessibility was a top priority, with all ramps, doorways, and pathways designed to meet ADA standards.

This project delivers a safer, more comfortable, and more efficient stop for the thousands of drivers who travel along I-65 each day.
