JESCO Completes 250,000-Square-Foot ABC Warehouse in Montgomery, Alabama

New Distribution Complex for the Alabama Beverage Control Board Marks RSA’s First Tilt Wall Construction Project

JESCO has completed construction on the new ABC Warehouse and Office Complex in Montgomery, Alabama, a 250,000-square-foot distribution facility built for the Retirement Systems of Alabama (RSA) on behalf of the Alabama Beverage Control (ABC) Board. The project consolidates the ABC Board’s warehousing operations into a single, centralized hub, replacing several geographically dispersed facilities and serving more than 170 state-controlled and 800 privately owned ABC retail locations statewide.

The project was delivered across four bid packages, from land clearing and grading through structural steel and concrete construction to full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and general trades work. In addition to the warehouse, the complex includes a three-story, approximately 55,500-square-foot office building that consolidates ABC’s administrative functions under one roof. The facility also features access control and security camera systems, along with a semi-automated material handling system, including an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) supporting roughly 40 percent of shipping and receiving operations.

The project also marks RSA’s first tilt wall construction project, a method well suited to a facility of this scale. The new ABC Warehouse and Office Complex sets a new benchmark for the Alabama Beverage Control Board’s distribution operations, and JESCO is proud to have delivered a facility built to serve the State of Alabama for decades to come.
